TeenTruth.org provides an honest conversation about teen health and high risk behavior including alcohol, sex, prescription and non-prescription drugs, suicide prevention, and injury prevention. It is a resource for parents, teens, and other concerned citizens and features an eye-opening look into the secret lives of Florida teens.
This Wahi (Web Automated Human Interaction) focuses on helping teens make the right choices and avoid dangerous situations and high risk behavior. It also gives teens the opportunity to share their own stories and explain the realities they face on a daily basis. They'll talk about the impact of every decision they make and learn how to handle different situations. They'll talk with other real teens dealing with the same choices. Sex or abstinence? Do I drink or not? Should I try drugs? Is suicide the only way out? This site will talk about all of these issues and help provide tools and skills teenagers need to make the right decisions.
This site also educates parents and other adults on these realities and provides information to help them understand and talk with their teens more effectively. Parents will learn how to talk openly and what steps they can take to protect their child. They'll hear from other parents dealing with the same issues and see the successes and struggles they've had. Topics range from open communication and trust, to dangerous and risky behavior and even whether or not to track internet use. Parents are the number one influence on their kids. This site will provide information to help prepare them to have the most positive impact possible.
